A beautiful hyperpyron of Andronicus II

Andronicus II Palaeologus, with Michael IX, 1282-1328. Hyperpyron (Gold, 24 mm, 4.00 g, 6 h), Constantinopolis, 1294-1320. Bust of Virgin Mary, orans, flanked by MHP and ΘV,all within city walls furnished with six groups of towers. Rev. Christ blessing Andronicus II and Michael IX, kneeling to left and right, respectively; in fields, IC - XC with the names of the emperors below. SB 2396. An unusually complete and attractive example. Minor edge crack and with a light graffito on the obverse, otherwise, about extremely fine.
